Certification 1-Medication Administration & Health Related Activities
This course is a Prerequisite that must be completed prior to Course 2 & 3

Certified personnel will be able to demonstrate: the preparation, administration, and documentation of administering prescribed medications and how to perform and document health related activities.  In addition the certified personnel will be knowledgeable in the safety of administration of medications, including emergency situations, along with the delivering of health related activities in a safe and competent manner.

*Note: Before administering medication or performing Health-related Activities, certified personnel must have individual specific training (IST). It is the responsibility of the certified personnel and employer to ensure individual specific training is done.

Length of course: 14 hours

Requirements needed prior to course:

  • Verification of age: All provider applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma/GED: Except for persons who held provider certification or who were employed by a certified agency provider on September 30, 2009.
  • State Identification: Valid driver’s license or other government-issued photo identification
  • Social Security Card: a copy is required to be submitted with your application
  • Current report from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII). Please contact your local DODD County Board to see if they offer or can refer you to local organizations that offer BCII and FBI criminal background checks.
  • Valid American Red Cross or equivalent certification in First Aid
  • Valid American Red Cross or equivalent certification in CPR
  • Evidence of 8-hours training​
  • A complete DD Personnel MAIS Application

Tuition:   $85.00

Payment is due in full by the first date of the course.Flat Rock will not reimburse for no call, no shows. Attendance is required for the entire duration of the course for certification.
